The Windmill City Weekend Shootout was on display from Batavia High School. On the second day, we watched many great players but here were some that stood out.

Marycait Mackie (2026 Loyola Academy) Mackie was a tone setter for Loyola Academy. With her playmaking abilities, she can always find the open teammate or get to the basket. The twitchy and aggressive guard played well on defense as she was a lockdown defender by causing turnovers for opponents.

Danielle Brooks (2026 Kenwood Academy) Brooks is a knockdown shooter from the outside but is also a well-rounded guard. She plays well with the ball in her hands with her tight handle and ability to really create for others with a tremendous passing ability. The rising sophomore can always find an open teammate for an easy bucket near the rim.

Anna Gilbertson (2024 Lake Zurich) The 5’11 forward is a highly versatile players who impacts the game on both ends of the court with her high IQ, size, and skill set. She is a physical rebounder with a nice couple of put backs under the basket for second-chance points Gilbertson also showcased her shooting ability, playmaking off the dribble, and passing.

Reagan Sipla (2024 St. Charles North) Sipla is an automatic the catch and shoot guard. She has good size and length in the backcourt at 6’1” to make her a very dynamic player. At her best shooting, she is also a well-rounded two guard who knows how to play. Sipla has continued to show she is one of the top 2024 shooters in the area.

Laney Stark (2024 St. Charles North) The offense runs through Stark with her excellent passing and high IQ for the game. She excelled in the transition game as well as the half court with a good ability to both score and distribute the ball. The savvy guard has a great feel for the game as she actively reads the defense. The guard reads the floor very well and is not afraid to get physical, getting loose balls.

Danni Scully (2024 Nazareth Academy) The 6’1 forward is an athletic and strong forward with a versatile game on both ends of the floor. She possesses great footwork around the paint but also showed a good ability hit shots in the mid-range and attack the basket strong. The rising senior plays with a bunch of energy and impacts the game in a variety of ways.

Yahri Smith (2024 Butler Prep) Smith came up huge in one game as she hit 6 catch and shoot three pointers to help Butler Prep run away with the win. Every time she shot the ball, it fell like it was automatically going in hitting her shots at an extremely high percentage with an ultra-smooth shot.

Xamiya Walton (2024 Butler Prep) The Northwestern commit is a smooth and elusive guard who possesses electric handle. Walton can get any open look with her initial breakaway speed and the ability to finish at the rim as well. All of that paired with great vision make her such a dynamic playmaker with the ball in her hands.

Madison Davis (2024 Marian Catholic) Davis is a true competitor who always goes through contact to finish at the rim. She is not afraid to knock down any open threes as well as she showcased that early in the contest. The senior is a skilled guard who always has her eye open for her teammates.

Danyella Mporokoso (2026 Waubonsie Valley) The rising sophomore looks like she has the game down. The athletic guard is a natural scorer. When she gets in the groove, she stays there for a while with her automatic jumper from the outside but is also a quality playmaker off the dribble who moves well with the ball in her hands. Mporokoso is a fantastic on-ball defender with her smooth footwork and balance.

Emory Klatt (2024 Stevenson) The 6’1 forward was a force in the paint this past weekend to score and rebound at a high level. The DePaul commit had great opportunities due to her aggressive and physical style of play while getting offensive rebounds and second chance buckets. She also showed that no moment is big enough as she knocked down two crucial free throws in the final minute, for Stevenson to hold on to a tight win.

Kiyoko Proctor (2025 Alton) Proctor plays with a lot of patience and lets the game come to her where she attacks the basket hard. With quickness and handle, she can get out of any situation. On defense, she is a problem as she is all over the other team’s guards causing turnovers with her quickness and great defensive intensity.

Ariella Henigan (2025 Kenwood Academy) Henigan continues to prove she is one of the best two-way guards in the states 2025 class. Play after play, she showed her lockdown defense playing with great energy and utilizing her quickness. Offensively, she was highly effective scoring on the attack pulling up in the mid-range and driving into the paint.
