The 20th Annual Riverside-Brookfield Summer Shootout happened this past weekend. On day 2, here were some of the players who caught my eye.

Davis Bynum (2024 East St. Louis) Bynum is flying under the radar for the class of 2024. The 6’8 wing was one of the winners from the Shootout. With the ability to jump out of the roof, Bynum can score on all three levels with some smooth ball handling at his height. With a long wingspan, he was a force on the defensive side of the ball as he was the man in the middle. After his eye-opening weekend, he earned his first few Division 1 offers from Valparaiso, Eastern Illinois, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Josh Aniceto (2024 Bolingbrook) Only standing at 5’9, he does not let his height affect him. He’s a true lockdown defender who is not afraid of any challenge. His aggressive tenacity was contagious as he set the tone for Bolingbrook. The jet quick, true point guard has great vision to find his open teammates in transition with some easy finishes at the rim.

Antonio Munoz (2025 Whitney Young) The highly regarded prospect drew a crowd to his games this weekend and he did not disappoint. With a collection of steals, he easily translated those into buckets down the court. When needed, he is can aggressively go through traffic and finish at the basket in a variety of ways. His energy is unmatched, which sets him apart from the competition. Standing at 6’6 he moves very well and can play guard or forward. He helped lead Whitney Young to a 3-1 record this weekend.

Steven Brown (2024 Riverside-Brookfield) Brown put his name on the map this weekend with his basketball skills. He has a great basketball IQ with his playmaking abilities. The 6’2 guard is creating issues for other teams as he was all over the ball. Over the weekend, he showed that he can really stroke the ball with a great pull up game and can shoot it from the three.

Aleks Alston (2025 Kenwood Academy) With multiple Division 1 players on the roster, Alston showed out. The long wingspan shows his potential as offensive threat with his silky-smooth jumper with unlimited range. His instinct on defense disrupts the other team’s momentum which leads to his teammates getting open looks. Kenwood Academy has a bunch of talent on their roster and Alston will only improve.

Damien “DJ” Bolden (2024 Westinghouse) With a game high of 23 points and three 3 pointers, Bolden showed his ability to score from anywhere on the court. He loves scoring any way possible, especially through the mid-range. His offensive game is very fluid and should continue rise in the next few months.

Nojus Indrusaitis (2024 St. Laurence) The Iowa State commit showed out with his new squad this past weekend by scoring 21 points in a heated contest. With multiple contested finishes at the rim, he shows that he is not afraid of contact. When he is not driving towards the basket, he can pull up from anywhere as he had many catch and shoot opportunities, where he made all of them. He produced on all three levels as the large crowd did not affect his polished game.

Carlos Harris III (2024 Curie) A tough floor general is the best way to describe Harris’ game. The guard showed his recognition of the game for finding his open teammates with multiple assists this weekend. Harris’ first step is lethal where he can create separation off the dribble.
