With seniors around the nation making news with the signing period here, it was a junior making some big news herself. On Tuesday Katey Richason announced on twitter her commitment to Miami University (OH).

Richason is a 6'2" forward of Zionsville High School and played with the Indiana Elite program. The junior picked the Red Hawks over her other scholarship offers from IUPUI, Tennessee-Martin, Toledo, Vermont, and Western Michigan. She was offered by Miami back over the summer in June.

As just a sophomore Richason was awarded as an all-state honorable mention by the IBCA.  The junior forward has good strength and can score and rebound at a high rate. She's at her best scoring around the basket but can also stretch the floor from three.

Miami (OH) is a Div. 1 school and a member of the MAC. They are coming off a successful 23-9 season that saw them advance to the WNIT.
