Pangos All-American Camp Standouts

The Pangos All American camp had some of the top players in the country competing last weekend. Here some of the players who were able to stand out.

Marvel Allen (2023 Calvary Christian HS, FL) Allen looked sensational from the midrange. Allen was able to attack the defense with his quick first step and get to his midrange shot. The 6’4 guard is able to finish around the rim in a variety of ways he can use crafty finishes and change his release point, He can finish through contact overpowering defenders and drawing fouls as well. Allen earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

Adem Bona (2022 Prolific Prep, CA) Bona is a fantastic roll and cut big. The 6’10 center is a spectacular athlete dunking everything around the rim. Bona was incredibly active on defense and has a huge motor sprinting back on rebounds and turnovers. He has great instincts and is one of the best chase down block guys in the camp. Bona earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Xavier Booker (2023 Cathedral HS, IN) Booker is a long sharpshooting big. The 6’10 forward is a fluid athlete with a nose for the ball. Booker has great defensive instincts which help him block shots. On the offensive end, he can really stretch the floor and knock down shots. Booker can also put the ball on the floor as well as score with his back to the basket. He earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

Tayshawn Bridges (2024 Milwaukee Academy of Science, WI) Bridges is a quick shifty guard from the class of 2024. He used his handle and quick first step to penetrate and attack the paint. The 6’2 guard has good size for his position and is able to finish at the rim and draw fouls. One of the youngest players in the camp Bridges was able to go out and compete against some of the top players in the country.

Taylor Bol Bowen (2023 Brewster Academy, NH) Bol Bowen has one of the best motors of anyone in the camp. The 6’9 forward is an extraordinary athlete with the ability to rebound and guard multiple positions. Bowen has good touch from inside of the paint and also has the ability to play above the rim. He has a great blend of length, size, and speed making him a very interesting prospect. Bowen earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Gradey Dick (2022 Sunrise Christian HS, KS) Dick was one of the best players on the floor. Dick is an elite athlete throwing down monster dunks. Dick is a well-rounded shot creator with the ability to score from three or midrange. On defense, he has great lateral quickness and isn’t afraid to get into the ball handler on defense. The 6’7 Kansas commit has an incredible motor and does the little things to help win games. Dick earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game. 

Jalen Duren (2022 Montverde Academy, FL) Duren was the best rebounder at the camp. Duren has great instincts finding the ball in his game against “Syracuse” he was able to pull down 18 rebounds. The next highest rebounder on the floor had 6. On offense Duren can score in a variety of ways he excels in the post, can step out and knock down threes, and is a great extra passer. He earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Justyn Fernandez (2022 Virginia Episcopal, VA) Fernandez is an uber athletic guard. He uses his quick first step to play above the rim and pressures the rim in transition. Fernandez is a knockdown shooter hitting all three of his attempts against “Arizona”. On defense, he is great at playing the passing lanes and pressuring the ball. Fernandez is also a strong rebounder for a guard leading his team in total rebounds against “Arizona”.

Jalen Hooks (2023 Crispus Attucks HS, IN) Hooks is a 6’8 wing who can slash and create shots of the dribble. Hooks has a nice pull up game from midrange and can hit from three. He also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket, Hooks has great size for his position allowing him to finish around the rim. On defense, he is incredibly versatile his quick feet allow him to stay with guards and his strong frame helps him guard bigs in the post. Hooks earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

Rickie Isaacs (Wasatch Academy, UT) Issacs has a high basketball IQ. The 6’2 guard is able to create for others and himself, Issacs has a tight handle and great vision, he passes guys open and manipulates the defense with his eyes. Issacs is also a strong shooter being able to pull up and shoot off the catch. On defense, Issacs has a good motor flying around the court grabbing rebounds, and creating havoc. He earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Vincent Iwuchukwu (2022 La Lumiere, IN) Iwuchukwu is a versatile scorer for a big man. The 7’0 Center has the ability to stretch the floor and looks comfortable shooting as a pick and pop guy. He is a strong finisher around the rim dunking everything. Iwuchukwu has great length for his position and cannot be kept off of the offensive glass. The big man also runs the floor very well and is a lob threat in transition. Iwuchukwu earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

KJ Lewis (2023 Chapin HS, TX) Lewis is a ridiculous athlete. The 6’4 guard is unstoppable in transition; Lewis is really explosive off the bounce and is great at pressuring the rim. Lewis is always looking to push downhill and finish at the rim. On defense Lewis hounds offense players getting into ball handlers and forcing turnovers. He is a high energy guy always looking to make a play on both ends. Lewis earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

Dereck Lively II (2022 Westtown School, PA) Lively has a big motor and has been running the floor hard. He has great size and length at 7'1". The big man is an active shot blocker and rim protector deterring players from coming into the paint. Lively has a great inside out game with the ability to finish plays around the rim and step out and hit a three. He played well throughout the camp and earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Austin Nunez (2022 Wagner HS, TX) Nunez is a shifty guard with a knockdown jump shot. Nunez has the ball on a string when he dribbles with elite moves and counters. Nunez’s jump shot is incredibly versatile as well he has the ability to shoot whether it is a pull up, step back, or catch and shoot he can do it all. When Nunez gets into the paint, he is able to pass open his teammates by drawing the defense and dropping the ball off to his teammates. Nunez earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

AJ Storr (2022 AZ Compass Prep, AZ): Storr is a knockdown shooter from midrange and can score from anywhere. From the perimeter, he can shoot off the catch or pull up from deep. Storr has a well-rounded mid-range game and is very crafty finishing around the rim. Storr is a stronger passer when he penetrates into the paint and often finds cutting teammates for easy buckets.

JJ Taylor (2023 Kenwood Academy, IL) The 6’8” wing from Kenwood Academy has been playing great basketball. Taylor is a knockdown three point shooter. He is super athletic and a fearsome transition player with long strides and a quick first step. Taylor can bully smaller players with his size, strength, and footwork in the post, and against larger players, he can use his quickness to blow by them. He earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.

Jaylen Thompson (2022 Southern California Academy, CA) Thopmson has a sweet stroke from three. Thompson has one of the prettiest jump shots at the camp. He is able to run off screens, catch, and pull up off the dribble. Against “Oregon” Thompson shot 4/6 from behind the arc in under ten minutes played. He is able to put the ball on the floor and use his length to score in the paint as well. Thompson is a strong rebounder especially on the offensive end crashing the boards and getting put-backs. Thompson earned the honor of playing in the top 60 cream of the crop game.

Kel’el Ware (2022 North Little Rock, AR) Ware is a phenomenal rim protector. The 6’11 center has quick feet and moves well for a big man. His leaping ability helped him be one of the best shot blockers at the camp. On offense, his body control is very impressive for a prospect his age. In the paint, he is a strong finisher around the rim and his physicality made it easy for him to draw fouls. Ware earned the honor of playing in the top 30 cream of the crop game.
